Weekday Ministry - Full-Day & Half-Day Preschool

Weekday Ministries at First Baptist Church provides a ministry to families by creating a safe, healthy, Christian environment for the children of working parents in the community.

Wee Learn, a faith-based curriculum published by Lifeway, provides opportunities for children to learn about God’s world and how to live in it.  The Creative Curriculum, published by Teaching Strategies, Inc., incorporates literacy, math, science, social studies, technology, and dramatic play.

Sheila Wright, Director Weekday Ministries

Sheila has been a part of the FBC-H staff since 2018. She has degrees in Marketing and Journalism and 30 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Sheila is married to Michael Wright and they have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She enjoys traveling and visiting Ohio, where she likes to shop, cook and visit with family.





Donna Lindley, Assistant Director of Weekday Ministries

Donna has enjoyed working at First Baptist since 1994. During the past 25 years, Donna has been a preschool teacher for our 3-year-old class, assistant to the director, interim director, and for 13 years Director of the Weekday Ministries. Donna is now enjoying the role of Assistant Director. Donna shares her life with her husband Mark, their 5 children, and 7 grandchildren. Donna enjoys reading, and time with her family.

The full day program operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round except for the weeks of Christmas and Independence Day. The half day preschool program operates from September through May.

The center operates under General Statute 110 and the child care rules for religious-sponsored child care center. Offering  full day, half day preschool (2’s, 3’s, 4’s), Transitional Kindergarten, and after school educational program that is designed to help children in their mental, emotional, social, physical and spiritual development
