The Lydia’s Loft Prom Closet is a self-funded ministry housed in the old education building of the First Baptist Church of Huntersville. It started in 2010 with a vision from the founder Aileen. Since then, hundreds of young ladies and young men have been able to let their outer beauty shine as much as their inner one.
In 2019 the Prom Closet gave out 1,282 dresses as well as touched the lives of countless people, and showed the love of God to everyone who experienced it.
You can help by donating women’s formal dresses, shoes, jewelry and accessories, as well as formal wear for men. You can be fitted for a dress or suit by visiting the Prom Closet on Saturday mornings by appointment on the second floor of the old Education Building behind the sanctuary. Email LydiasPromCloset@gmail.com for more information.
The Prom Closet will be open on Saturdays February 12 through March 26, 2022 from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon in the Education Building by appointment only. Appointments to shop for a dress can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The dresses are completely free! If you have a prom dress you would like to donate, you may leave it in the collection bin located in the covered breezeway outside the Education Building entrance (behind the Sanctuary); volunteers will keep an eye on the bin and bring donations inside periodically.
